The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division issued an Amber Alert for 1-year-old Dylan Saige Cooper, who was reportedly abducted on Jan. 2, 2024. Officers said to be on the lookout for this Mitsubishi Lancer with temporary license tags.

Authorities in SC canceled an Amber Alert Friday morning after a young child who was missing was found safe.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division sent out the alert at 5:48 Friday morning and noted that a 1-year-old girl named Dylan Saige Cooper was missing. However, at 7:35 a.m. SLED sent notice that the alert had been canceled and the baby had been located.

Authorities had previously said that the child was last seen at about 6 p.m. Jan. 2 at a Roses store at 1508 South Irby St. in Florence and that she was with Macie Eaddy, 32. Officials initially said Eaddy might have been driving a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer with a temporary SC license plate that reads XWR0804H.

SLED said the Florence Police Department is investigating the case. The department said in a Friday morning Facebook post that the child and suspect had been found and that the child appeared unharmed.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said in a Friday release that deputies responded at about 7 a.m. Friday after receiving a report that someone spotted the white Mitsubishi listed in the Amber Alert. Deputies saw the vehicle leaving a restaurant on Highway 15 South in Sumter County, and pulled it over, the release said.

Eaddy was the driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi, the Sumter release said. She reportedly told deputies she dropped the child off at an apartment complex in Florence with a mutual friend. The Sumter deputies reached out to Florence Police, who went and found the child, the Sumter Sheriff’s release said.

Eaddy was taken into custody by the Sumter deputies and was awaiting extradition to Florence County on Friday morning.
