One person was killed and another was injured in a Thursday evening car crash in the Midlands.

SC Highway Patrol Lnc. Cpl. Brittany Glover said the wreck happened at 7:50 p.m. Thursday on Tee Vee Road near state Highway 6. That’s about 4 miles east of the town or Elloree in Orangeburg County.

According to Glover, a 2005 Honda Accord was traveling south on Tee Vee Road when it went off the left side of the road. The car reportedly struck a fence, a utility pole and a building before overturning.

One occupant of the car was transported to a local hospital. A second occupant of the Honda died at the scene.

The name of the deceased had not been publicly released as of early Friday morning. The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
