A spot known for its chicken wings has opened a new location on this busy Midlands road
A new chicken spot has come home to roost in Lexington.
Wingstop, which has restaurants across the U.S. and South Carolina, recently opened a new location at 736 W. Main St. That’s in the Town Square shopping center that is north of downtown Lexington.
The company touted the Lexington opening in a recent Facebook post. The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to midnight daily, per a Google listing.
There are nearly 2,000 Wingstop location across the U.S., according to data site ScrapeHero. Other locations in the Midlands include spots on Dreher Road in West Columbia, on Broad River Road in Irmo and on Percival Road in Columbia, per a store locator tool on Wingstop’s website.
Wingstop is known for its chicken offerings, including wings, boneless wings, tenders and sandwiches, with a number of sauce flavors available, including lemon pepper, mango habanero, and hickory smoked barbecue, among others.
There are a number of businesses located in the Town Square shopping center in Lexington, including Food Lion, RF’s Corner Grill, Musician Supply, Terry’s Barber Shop, Black Tiger Tae Kwan Do, and more. A Lizard’s Thicket and Lexington County’s auxiliary administration building are right across the street.
The new Wingstop is in a high-traffic area that’s a main thoroughfare near the heart of Lexigton. More than 47,000 cars per day travel down that section of W. Main Street, per SC Department of Transportation statistics.
