This Midlands restaurant space known for country cooking has reopened with a new name
A Midlands spot that has long been known for country cooking is relaunching with new management and a new name.
The Kozy Kitchen restaurant was set to open Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 290 S. Monmouth Ave. in the south Lexington County town of Swansea. The restaurant space was formerly home to Sugarbakers, which was known for its buffet.
“The Kozy Kitchen will still offer the same great buffet items you’ve come to love, and over the next few weeks will have many new and exciting items to choose from,” Kozy Kitchen said in a recent Facebook post.
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with a lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner buffet from 5 to 8 p.m. and a kitchen menu available all day, per social media postings from the business. It also has a Sunday buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be various items featured on the buffet throughout the week, depending on the day, including fried chicken, hamburger steak, chicken bog, fried and grilled fish and shrimp, various side dishes and more.
The Kozy Kitchen’s all-day menu includes cheeseburgers, Philly steak sandwiches, chicken tenders, pulled barbecue chicken sandwiches and more. There’s also a kids menu with chicken fingers, burger sliders, mac & cheese and other offerings.
The Kozy Kitchen location is in downtown Swansea, about a block from town hall.
