A new place to grab snacks, coffee and a tank of gas is coming to a bustling stretch of road in Lexington, not far from the shores of Lake Murray.

Circle K, which has thousands of convenience stores across the U.S., is set to open a new location at 1512 North Lake Drive, near Andrew Corley Road. The new store will open on Monday, Jan. 27, according to a Google listing and signs hanging in the doors of other nearby Circle K locations that note that the location at 1512 North Lake is hiring.

The new Circle K will be coming to a busy four lane road that’s just east of Lake Murray and about a mile south of the scenic Dreher Shoals Dam. About 29,700 cars per day travel down that section of North Lake Drive, according to SC Department of Transportation data.

There are almost 7,000 Circle K convenience stores across the U.S., according to data site ScrapeHero. The company started in 1951 in Texas and has grown through the years, and now has locations across the world, including in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Circle K stores typically offer many convenience store hallmarks, including coffee, soda, snacks, gasoline, automobile products and more.

The Circle K brand also remains dear to the hearts of fans of the beloved 989 time-traveling comedy film “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” in which Keanu Reeves’ Ted Logan offered that “strange things are afoot at the Circle K.”
