Where once there was rubble, fried chicken will rise.

Zaxby’s, the popular chain famed for its chicken fingers, will reopen its location at 821 Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce on Feb. 3, according to a social media post from the city of Cayce. The Knox Abbott location closed in August 2024, and was torn down for a complete rebuild.

Zaxby’s is known for its chicken fingers, wings, seasoned fries, sweet iced tea and zesty dipping sauce. Founded in Statesboro, Georgia in 1990, Zaxby’s has grown to nearly 1,000 locations across the U.S. The company has a number of locations across the Midlands.

The Knox Abbott Zaxby’s is situated along a busy commercial corridor in Cayce, with several other restaurants nearby, including Wendy’s, Captain D’s, Duke’s Pad Thai and Vella’s Tavern. It’s just west of Brookland-Cayce High School’s football stadium.
