South Carolina woman has not been seen for months, police say
A search is underway for a missing South Carolina woman who hasn’t been seen for months.
Christina Marie Furman was publicly reported missing by the Sumter Police Department Monday. The missing 36-year-old Sumter resident has not been seen in October 2024, police said in a news release.
Information about specifically when and where the North Lafayette Drive resident was last seen was not available.
An associate of Furman’s reported the woman missing Monday. There was no word about why Furman hadn’t been reported missing over the past five months.
Officers who reached out to others in their search for Furman also have been told that she has not been seen for some time, according to the release.
There was no word if Furman was alone when she was last seen. Police did not say if foul play was suspected in Furman’s disappearance.
Police described Furman as a 5-foot-6, 145-pound woman with brown hair and brown eyes. She could be driving a red 2007 Toyota Yaris with South Carolina license plate that reads “WTS703,” according to the release.
Anyone who has seen Furman, or has information about her, is asked to call police at 803-436-2700, CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
