Three people were arrested after deputies searched an Aiken County home and allegedly found an explosive device, guns and drugs.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office arrested Assad Coston, 46, and charged him with possession of a destruction device, operating a stash house and possession of methamphetamine, according to a release. Also arrested, according to the sheriff’s office, were Nicole Lee Coomes, 37, who was charged with possession of methamphetamine, and Melissa Sheppard, who was charged with possession of cocaine.

The release said investigators were serving a search warrant at a home on Westbrook Trail Road in Aiken County, where they found an improvised explosive device, as well as 14 guns, 3 of which were allegedly stolen.

“Our investigators have done an exceptional job with finding this cache of guns, illegal drugs and a homemade explosive,” Aiken Sheriff Marty Sawyer said in the release. “We appreciate citizens who have provided tips that has led to these arrests and the recovery of stolen guns.”
