A restaurant in the heart of Lexington plans to close.

RF’s Corner Grill, located at 712 W. Main St. in the Town Square shopping center that is anchored by a Food Lion, announced the coming closure in a Feb. 26 post on Facebook.

“I appreciate my Lexington family,” RF’s Corner Grill owner Arif Rizvi wrote in the post. “Please see this Saturday will be our last day of operations at RF’s Corner Grill. It has been a wonderful journey and it is extremely hard for me to close this chapter after 6.25 years, but it is time.”

The Facebook post about the closing drew a big response, gathering more than 700 reactions, nearly 160 comments and nearly 70 shares as of Thursday morning. Many of those who commented on the message lamented the fact RF’s was shuttering, and recalled meals and experiences they had at the restaurant

“Sad to see you go,” one commenter noted. “We were there on opening night and have many great memories at RF’s.”

RF’s Corner Grill has been known for its burgers, wings, tacos, duck fat fries, salads and more. Rizvi also owns Bubba’s Biscuit restaurant, located in downtown Lexington, which will remain open.

“I look forward to doing more at Bubba’s Biscuit Lexington and will be having a few nights a week as a mini RF’s Corner Grill there,” he wrote in the Feb. 26 Facebook post.
