It was a relatively quiet February in Columbia when it came to concert announcements at the city’s large venues.

Colonial Life Arena, the largest such venue in the state, didn’t add any concerts to its calendar — and the calendar as it stands right now is a little light, with no music events yet added for the summer months. The only events currently scheduled at the arena between May and August are a pair of comedy shows — Katt Williams (May 3) and Nate Bargatze (Aug. 14).

The Township Auditorium, the city’s largest theater space, added a pair of traditional concerts — with disco lifers KC & the Sunshine Band (May 3) and R&B staple Ledisi (June 8) announcing Columbia dates. The auditorium also announced that it will host “Way Them Fans @ All Star Edition,” a “live concert & steppers round up,” on April 25. Tickets for those shows are on sale now.

The Koger Center, downtown Columbia’s other large theater space, announced that it will host jazz singer Jane Monheit (March 14) as part of an ongoing series of intimate black box concerts presented in partnership with local nonprofit ColaJazz. Tickets are on sale now.

The Senate, Columbia’s large rock club, made some prominent additions to its calendar. Jimmy Eat World, the emo-leaning rock band best known for the hit 2001 single “The Middle,” will hit the room on May 13. In February, the club also announced dates from blues guitarist and singer-songwriter Tab Benoit (April 3) and rap/country collider Kidd G (April 25), along with a co-headline bill from country singers Conner Smith and Dylan Marlowe (April 2). Tickets for all those shows are on sale now.
