A taste of New Orleans hits downtown Columbia with opening of new restaurant. Here’s where
The flavors of New Orleans have come to downtown Columbia.
The Bistreaux on Assembly, a new restaurant with Creole and Cajun offerings, opened March 4 at 1301 Assembly St. That’s in the heart of downtown Columbia, near the intersection on Assembly and Lady streets.
The Bistreaux on Assembly is from the team behind The Bistreaux by Fleur de Licious, the restaurant with a Louisiana flair that opened in Aug. 2022 at 2700 Broad River Road. The Broad River Road location remains open.
“We’re excited to introduce a new dining experience to Downtown Columbia,” The Bistreaux on Assembly posted to social media. “Louisiana cuisine complemented with great drinks, live music, events and much more. [On March 4], we open our doors and welcome you for brunch outings, lunch breaks, happy hour rendezvous and dinner dates.”
The Assembly Street restaurant notes on its website that it “combines the best of Louisiana traditions with Columbia’s dynamic downtown energy.”
The menu for the Bistreaux on Assembly includes a host of New Orleans favorites, including red beans & rice, shrimp or crawfish étouffée, chicken & beignets and more. It also serves burgers and po’ boy sandwiches, various pastas including blackened chicken, and desserts such as white chocolate bread pudding.
