One of Columbia’s key nightlife and entertainment districts is set to get a new restaurant.

The Champagne Restaurant and Lounge is coming to 902 Gervais St. in the Vista, according to a release from commercial real estate firm Colliers South Carolina, which helped broker the lease on the deal. Champagne will join several other eateries in the building at 902 Gervais, including Longhorn Steakhouse, Jay’s Bar and Grill, and Peebles Wings Vista.

The building at 902 Gervais dates to 1903, and was originally the Seaboard Railroad Station. The space for Champagne is about 4,800 square feet.

“Our goal with Champagne is to create a place where people can celebrate life’s moments in elegance and style,” Champagne owners Jordan Giles and Juliet Brown said in a statement.

An opening date for Champagne has not been publicly announced. The business’ Instagram page says it will open in the spring.

“Experience elevated cuisine, live entertainment, and a plush two-level space designed for unforgettable nights,” Champagne said in one recent Instagram post. “From our chic chandeliers to the luxe patio seating, every detail is curated for sophistication.”

While a menu has not yet been released for Champagne, a release suggests it will offer “modern American and global cuisine in a sophisticated atmosphere.”

The Vista has remained a reliable dining and entertainment neighborhood in Columbia, with a host of restaurants, shops, galleries, bars, hotels and more. It’s in a high-traffic corridor in the center of the capital city, and nearly 22,000 cars per day pass down Gervais Street near the spot where Champagne will be, according to state Department of Transportation statistics.
