A new combo restaurant with iconic ice cream & coffee brands is coming to this Midlands spot

Coffee drinkers and those with a sweet tooth in the Midlands will soon have a new spot to satisfy their cravings.

Coffee-and-doughnut giant Dunkin’ and ice cream favorite Baskin-Robbins on Wednesday announced plans for a combo restaurant at 1003 W. Dekalb St. in Camden. An opening date for the two-in-one restaurant has not been announced, but a news release indicated it could open this summer.

The combo restaurant will “offer a first-hand look at Dunkin’s Next Generation design, which will provide guests with a fresh, friendly, vibrant, and engaging environment, while also serving Baskin-Robbins’ signature 31 flavors of ice cream,” according to a release.

The planned 2,500-square-foot restaurant will have seating for 24 customers inside and 12 outside. It will also have a drive-thru, including, according to the release, “an exclusive On-the-Go drive-thru lane that lets Dunkin’ Rewards members who order ahead via Dunkin’s Mobile App bypass the ordering lane and head straight into the line for the pickup window.”

The Camden combo store, which plans to be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily once it debuts, will be owned and operated by franchisee Peter Patel, who has a dozen Dunkin’ locations across the Carolinas.

Dunkin’, which has nearly 10,000 locations across the U.S. and several in the Midlands, has long been known for its doughnuts and coffee, including its cold coffee drinks. The company notes in a release that its cold drinks are “poured through an innovative tap system, serving a variety of consistently cold sips, such as iced coffee, iced tea, Cold Brew, and Nitro-Infused Cold Brew.”

W. Dekalb Street in Camden is a busy thoroughfare with a number of commercial businesses. About 20,000 cars per day travel down the street, per state Department of Transportation data.
