Attending USC’s Garnet and Black Spring Football Game? What to know before going

College basketball season has officially come to an end, and as summer slowly approaches, pretty soon all South Carolina fans will have to look forward to are hopes for appearances in the Women’s and Men’s College World Series.

But before Gamecock fans fully turn their attention to the ball park, it’s time for an annual early pilgrimage to the gridiron: South Carolina’s Garnet and Black Spring Football Game.

Gamecock fans will get their first look at the team ahead of the 2025 season on Friday. The annual Spring Football Game will occur at 7:30 p.m. on April 18 at Williams-Brice Stadium and is free for anyone to attend.

Where can you park?

A couple lots around the stadium will be free to visitors on game day, including Gamecock Park and Woodstock.

Gamecock Park will open at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Fans can access the lot through the main gate on Bluff Road or the two gates on National Guard Road. The Woodstock lot, which can also be accessed on National Guard Road, will open at 5 p.m.

The Lexington Medical Center Fair Park will also be available for attendees to park in, starting at 3:30 p.m. But cars parked there will have to pay $10 per car.

When can you get into the stadium?

Gates to the stadium will open at 6 p.m. Fans will only be able to get into the stadium through the entrances on Bluff Road.

Williams-Brice Stadium has a clear bag policy and allows attendees to bring in the following:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that are no bigger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches

  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag

  • Small clutch bags no bigger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches

  • Essential medical items

A few prohibited items include food, weapons, video cameras and umbrellas. A full list can be found on Gamecock Athletics’ website.

Not able to attend? The Spring Football Game will not be broadcast, but fans can still listen in on 107.5 The Game, starting at 6:30 p.m.
