A Lexington spot known for craft beer and food plans to close its doors, then reopen with a new name and leadership.

Krafty Draft, located at 269 Charter Oak Road in Lexington, announced in a weekend Facebook post that it will close on May 3. It will then reopen under new ownership May 10 as Lexington Tap House, the message said.

“A new deal has been finalized, and with it comes an exciting vision for what’s next in this space.,” the social media post said . “While Krafty has been a staple in the community for years, this transition marks a fresh beginning with a new name, new leadership, and a renewed commitment to great food, cold beer, and community connection.”

The pub noted in the social media post that its “Mug Club” memberships, reward points, and gift cards will all be honored as it switches over to the new venture. Prepaid events will also carry over to Lexington Tap House

“We’re beyond grateful for the support Krafty has received over the years and can’t wait to welcome you back to experience the evolution,” the Facebook message noted.

The weekend Facebook announcement that the bar was making a change drew a big response, with more than 200 reactions, nearly 70 comments and more than 60 shares as of Monday morning. When one commenter asked if the coming Lexington Tap House would have a large selection of drinks, the bar responded that it is “committed to offering a diverse and exciting selection — close to 100 options total across craft beers, domestics, wine and CBD drinks.”

The establishment is located in a busy area of Lexington, less than a mile north of Lexington High School and a half-mile south of the Hendrix Crossing shopping center that is anchored by a Publix. About 13,200 cars per day travel down Charter Oak Road, per state Department of Transportation data.
