Woman killed in Lexington County motorcycle accident

A woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle was killed when the driver left the road and lost control early Saturday, according to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the woman as Caitlin Clark, 19, of Lexington. The incident happened at 2:29 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Saint Davids Church Road near West Columbia, Fisher said.

Clark was believed to be wearing a helmet, Fisher said. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Fisher said.

The accident is under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
