A Columbia area burger joint has closed one of its locations. What we know
A Midlands burger restaurant has closed one of its locations.
Chubby’s Burgers announced Thursday night on Facebook that it had closed its location at 106 Percival Road suite 200 in Columbia, near Forest Acres. It was in the Jackson Square shopping center, not far from the U.S. Army’s Fort Jackson training installation. The Forest Acres-area Chubby’s location had been open since August 2024.
“After much deliberation, we have decided to close our Forest Acres location permanently,” Chubby’s Forest Acres said on Facebook. “Thank you for all the patrons since our opening.”
The Chubby’s Burgers location at 420 McNulty St. in Blythewood remains open, the company noted.
In a response to a Facebook commenter on the closure of the Forest Acres location, Chubby’s noted it came because of “a combination of business and personal reasons,” but the company noted that “the Blythewood location is doing very well.”
Chubby’s is known for its smash-style burgers, including the signature Chubby Burger, which comes with bacon onion jam, Duke’s mayo, Havarti cheese and Cabernet ketchup. It also serves Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, as well as appetizers, salads and more.
