Midlands United Way moving headquarters to Blanding Street

The United Way of the Midlands has announced plans to move its headquarters to 1818 Blanding St. in March.

The new location will provide more than 6,000 square feet of space. The $4.2 million headquarters will be funded with proceeds from the sale of the United Way’s current Main Street location to the city of Columbia, along with support from local companies, foundations and people.

United Way officials say funding for the facility will not divert any money from United Way’s community work, grants or program spending.
