A popular Columbia Italian deli is moving, but it isn’t going far.

Enzo’s Delicatessen, which had been located at 600 Heyward St. in the Olympia Mill at The Mills apartment development, is moving to 612 Whaley St. suite C, according to a weekend Instagram post from Enzo’s.

The move will place Enzo’s in the same location as Don Luigi, an Italian wine shop and market. That’s directly in front of The Mills apartment buildings, next door to Jolie Nails and a Village Idiot pizza shop.

Enzo’s Delicatessen had been located at 600 Heyward St. since April 2024. Prior to that, the deli was located on Greene Street in Five Points for about four years.

“We’re bringing our original Enzo’s concept back to life: Columbia’s best New York Deli with sandwiches, Italian grocery, prepared foods, and Italian wine from all 20 regions [of Italy]… ALL UNDER ONE ROOF,” Enzo’s said in its weekend Instagram post.

The establishment said in its social media post that the move comes as it looks to protect its operation from future tariffs.

“We will now be a ONE STOP SHOP for lunch, Italian groceries, wine, desserts, and everything in between,” the Instagram post said.

Enzo’s has gained popularity in recent years for its hot and cold sandwiches loaded with a prodigious amount of meat and fresh ingredients. For instance, on the cold side there is The Sosa, which comes with ham, Genoa salami, Swiss cheese, pickles, dijon and mayonnaise. And the hot offerings include, among others, The Stephen, which comes with chicken cutlets, provolone, roasted red peppers, balsamic and arugula.

The Enzo’s location at 612 Whaley St. will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
