Forest Acres election results are in. See which candidates won
Forest Acres City Council won’t see any shakeups.
The two incumbent candidates on the ballot in Tuesday’s election will keep their seats, according to unofficial results shared by the city.
Voters re-elected Haskell Kibler and David Black out of a pool of five candidates. Kibler received 688 votes, and Black received 599.
The other candidates were Paige George (229 votes) Ellis Creel (190) and Rob Acuff (22).
Forest Acres has a five-person council including the mayor. Candidates in this election focused on public safety, business growth and the redevelopment of the Richland Mall site as top priorities for the small but growing city wedged between downtown Columbia and the bustling northeast of Richland County.
Both Kibler and Black were first elected to the city council in 2021. Council terms are for four years.
Kibler is a Forest Acres native who works in commercial real estate. Black is also a Forest Acres native who has formerly worked on Capital Hill in D.C.
The election results still must be certified before they are considered official. The Forest Acres Municipal Election Commission is scheduled to certify those votes May 15.
