This growing brewery is prepping a new Midlands location. Check out where
A popular brewing company is prepping a new spot for beer, cocktails and food in the heart of a Midlands city.
Voodoo Brewing Company, which has locations in a number of states, will open a location in downtown Newberry, a short distance from the popular Newberry Opera House, according to posts on the company’s social media. A grand opening date has not been announced, but Voodoo Brewing Newberry has been posting construction updates on its Instagram page.
“With our signature eclectic pub atmosphere, Voodoo Newberry will pay tribute to the area’s rich traditions, local schools & natural beauty,” Voodoo Newberry said on Instagram. “Our unique Voodoo icon for this location draws inspiration from the iconic Carolina jessamine — the golden bloom that blankets the region each spring & represents the warmth & hospitality of Newberry, & also the wolf, in honor of the Newberry Wolves & Newberry College.”
The Newberry location is touting “world-class beer, hand-crafted cocktails, & elevated pub fare” for the coming tavern.
Voodoo has nearly 30 corporate or franchised locations across 12 states, according to a store locator tool on its website. The Newberry restaurant will be a locally owned and operated franchise location.
The Newberry restaurant isn’t the only Voodoo Brewing Company spot that is set for the Midlands. As was previously announced, a Voodoo location is planned for 102 W. Main St. in Lexington, at the busy corner of Main and Church streets, a short distance from the popular Icehouse Amphitheater.
An opening date has not been announced for the Lexington Voodoo location, but construction has been ongoing as a reporter has driven by in recent days.
