A popular wine bar is planning a location in a bustling part of the Midlands.

Molto Vino, a private wine bar company with a handful of locations in the area, is bringing a new one to 128 State St. in West Columbia. That’s in the heart of West Columbia not far from the Gervais Street Bridge. Other nearby restaurants include Terra, The Hideout Cafe and Another Broken Egg Cafe, among others.

There is a Molto Vino poster in the window at 128 State St., as well as a state Department of Revenue notice that the location has applied for its license to serve wine and beer. The Molto Vino website lists a State Street location as “coming soon.”

The city of West Columbia recently touted the coming Molto Vino in an Instagram post.

“(Molto Vino) is bringing its exclusive 24/7 wine bar to WeCo!,” the city posted. “Members and their friends will enjoy over 30 self-service wine taps, a wide range of events, and a large retail selection.”

Molto Vino already has three private wine bar spots in the Midlands, including one on Main Street in Lexington, one in the Cardinal Crossing development in Forest Acres, and one near Killian Road in northeast Columbia.
