A new restaurant is planned for a busy retail area in Lexington.

Vedha Indian Cafe is coming to 5076 Sunset Blvd. That’s in the McCauley Square shopping center that includes a host of businesses, including Konnichiwa Japanese restaurant, Antai Asian Dining, Momma Rabbit’s Nibbles and Sips, and Travinia Italian restaurant, among others.

New signage for Vedha Indian Cafe has recently gone up on the building, and a banner noting the business is “coming soon” was hanging across the storefront when a reporter went by on Wednesday. An opening date for the restaurant has not been publicly announced. The coming Lexington Indian restaurant did not have a readily available online or social media presence as of Thursday morning.

Lexington’s Sunset Boulevard corridor remains one of the busiest retail areas in the Midlands. There is a Target shopping center directly across the street from where Vedha will be. Other businesses directly nearby include Traditions Fine Jewelers, World Market, Best Buy, PetSmart, Aldi, Lidl and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, among many others.

More than 43,200 cars per day travel down that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, according to state Department of Transportation data, making it one of the most high-traffic non-interstate roads in the Midlands.
