Popular shopping center near Columbia gets a new frozen yogurt spot. Here’s where
There’s a new spot for sweet treats in Forest Acres.
16 Handles, which has frozen yogurt and soft serve locations across the U.S., opened a new location on June 28 in the Trenholm Plaza shopping center at 4840 Forest Drive suite 19. The sweet shop is located in the space that formerly was home to a Verde salad restaurant, which closed in December.
The restaurant offers numerous flavors of frozen yogurt and a bevy of toppings. There are nearly four dozen 16 Handles locations in numerous states, including Florida, Texas, Arizona, New York and Connecticut, according to a store locator tool on the company’s website. Aside from the new Forest Acres spot, there is another South Carolina 16 Handles location in Charleston, and one coming soon in Myrtle Beach.
The Forest Acres 16 Handles indicated its opening weekend was a success.
“We had lines around the block all weekend long (yes, seriously!) and every moment was packed with smiles, sprinkles, and sweet memories,” the store said in a July 1 Instagram post.
Trenholm Plaza has remained a reliably popular shopping center in Forest Acres, featuring a Publix, a Fresh Market, a Tazza Kitchen restaurant, a Chicken Salad Chick location, a J. Crew Factory store and much more. About 28,000 cars per day travel down nearby Forest Drive, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
