A popular Columbia event is set to return to one of the Midlands’ landmark bridges this year, and now it has set an official date.

The Gervais Street Bridge Dinner, which was canceled in 2024, will come back this year on Oct. 26, according to a release for the event. Tickets will go on sale July 18 at gervaisstreetbridgedinner.com, officials said.

Organizers say 1,200 people are expected to enjoy supper along the bridge that spans the Congaree River and connects Columbia and West Columbia. The event will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26 and will include food, live music, cocktails, beer, wine and more.

Prisma Health is the presenting sponsor of this year’s version of the bridge dinner, which will benefit nonprofits including The River Alliance, Canoeing for Kids, and the West Columbia Beautification Foundation.

“We are delighted to serve as presenting sponsor of this cherished event that brings our community together in such a memorable way,” Prisma director of community engagement Robin Stelling said in a statement. “It’s more than a beautiful evening on an iconic bridge — it’s a celebration of connection, place, and purpose, all while supporting the vital work of nonprofits.”

The Gervais Street Bridge Dinner has been a popular and iconic fundraiser nearly every year since 2015. It was canceled in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned in 2021. The 2024 edition was suddenly canceled, with organizers at the time citing, among other things, “inflationary pressures.”

The bridge dinner has raised more than $250,000 for charities through the years. General admission for the 2025 Gervais Street Bridge Dinner will be $150 and those ticketholders can enter the event at 4 p.m. on Oct. 26. Meanwhile, VIP group tables will be $1,800 and those ticketholders will get early admission at 3 p.m. The event is for people 21 and older.

The rain date for this year’s bridge dinner is Nov. 2, officials said.
