A West Columbia mac-and-cheese restaurant has closed its doors. What we know
A restaurant that offered various macaroni and cheese dishes has closed a Midlands location.
The I Heart Mac & Cheese location at 2712 Emanuel Church Road in West Columbia has shuttered. It is listed as “permanently closed” on Google, and is no longer listed on the locations page on the I Heart Mac & Cheese website.
There was a handwritten sign that said “closed” taped to the door when a reporter stopped by midday on Tuesday. A phone call to the restaurant went unanswered. The West Columbia I Heart Mac & Cheese opened in 2022.
I Heart Mac & Cheese specializes in various macaroni and cheese bowls, and also offers specialty grilled cheese sandwiches. The restaurants feature items such as the Buffalo Blue Mac and Cheese, which includes chicken, Buffalo sauce, blue cheese, celery and carrots, as well as offering customers the opportunity to build their own bowls with various ingredients.
Aside from the West Columbia location, I Heart Mac & Cheese formerly had another Midlands spot on Roberts Branch Parkway in northeast Columbia. That location closed in 2023.
The nearest open I Heart Mac & Cheese to the Midlands, according to the locations page on the company’s website, is in Augusta.
