A grocery store in the Columbia area has closed its doors. Here’s what we know
A grocery store along a bustling road in West Columbia has closed its doors.
The KJ’s Market location at 2349 Augusta Road has shuttered. It was located in a shopping center that is anchored by a Hobby Lobby store and is home to a number of other businesses, including Cato and Harbor Freight.
KJ’s signs have been removed from the store’s front and the shopping center’s marquee along Augusta Road. The store is listed as “permanently closed” on Google, and it is no longer on the locations section of the KJ’s Market website.
“Store closed as of July 8, 2025,” a sign taped toe the door read on Thursday. “Thank you for shopping with us.”
The sign on the door encourages shoppers to visit the KJ’s Market at 543 St. Andrews Road in Columbia. The nearest competing grocer to the spot at 2349 Augusta Road is the Walmart Supercenter at 2401 Augusta Road.
The supermarket space at 2349 Augusta Road formerly was home to a Bi-Lo. It changed over to KJ’s Market in January 2021.
