A taste of India has come to a bustling area of Lexington.

Vedha Indian Cafe opened its doors on Thursday, July 24, as noted by posts on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The restaurant is located at 5076 Sunset Blvd. suite A in the McCauley Square shopping center. That’s across the street from the Lexington Target store.

The new restaurant is offering dine-in and carry-out service initially, and said on social media that it plans to add delivery partners in a few weeks.

Menus posted online for Vedha show a host of Indian favorites including a variety of naan, hyderabadi biryani, tandoori chicken, a host of dosas, curry, soup, tikka masala, Indo-Chinese cuisine and more. Among the many offerings on the menu is a paneer matar masala, which is paneer and green peas simmered in a tomato gravy.

The McCauley Square shopping center where Vedha is located is home to a host of other businesses and restaurants, including Konnichiwa, Antai Asian Dining, Travinia Italian Kitchen and Momma Rabbits, among others.

Lexington’s Sunset Boulevard corridor remains one of the busiest retail areas in the Midlands. Other businesses directly nearby include Traditions Fine Jewelers, World Market, Best Buy, PetSmart, Aldi, Lidl and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, among many others.

More than 43,200 cars per day travel down that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation statistics, making it one of the busiest non-interstate roads in the Midlands.
