A Midlands woman won $2 million after buying a scratch-off lottery ticket at a convenience store she was visiting for the first time.

The woman who was traveling along Bush River Road decided to stop at the City Fuel & Food, a convenience store she had never been in before. She bought a $20 scratch-off ticket.

After she saw a “MONEYBAG” symbol and $2 million for the win, the woman, who was not identified, told the South Carolina Education Lottery she walked out of the store to her car stunned.

“I was shaking when I signed the ticket,” she said. “It’s a dream come true.”

The lottery said in a news release the woman has given some of the winnings to charities but she is still adjusting to being a millionaire.

The lottery said the odds of winning the $2 million prize is 1 in 1.5 million.

“I was riding down the road, and I prayed for a lottery win,” she said. “And that’s exactly what I got.”

One more $2 million prize remains, the lottery said.

City Fuel & Food Inc. in Columbia received a $20,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
