A popular sports card and memorabilia shop in Lexington plans to move to a new location.

Palmetto Cards, which has been located at 404 Main St., will move to a new space at 607 Columbia Ave., according to a release from commercial real estate firm Colliers South Carolina. Palmetto Cards bought the more than 8,000-square-foot building at 607 Columbia Avenue, and the card shop will use a roughly 3,000-square-foot suite in the building. Coldwell Banker, which already has operations in the building, is a co-tenant.

Colliers said in its release that Palmetto cards “will relocate to Columbia Avenue to meet growing demand and provide a more spacious, community-oriented environment with over double the size of its current space.” The Columbia Avenue spot is near the intersection with North Lake Drive. The release did not disclose a date for the move.

Palmetto Cards initially opened on Lexington’s Main Street in 2022. The shop is known for offering collectible cards across a number of sports, including baseball, basketball, football and more. It also has Pokemon cards and a host of other hobby-related items.

“We love our community, and this transition is bittersweet,” Pametto Cards owner Aaron Cordero said in a statement. “Main Street was our first home, but the opportunity to expand into a larger space was one we couldn’t pass up.”

Palmetto Cards’ purchase of a new building was brokered by Colliers South Carolina’s Grayson Greiner, who would have familiarity when it comes to baseball cards: He was a star catcher at the University of South Carolina and played several seasons in Major League Baseball with the Detroit Tigers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
