The musician Henry Rollins once said, “Pizza makes me think that anything is possible.’

We couldn’t agree more, Mr. Rollins. Whether it’s sitting around a table with your family at a restaurant on a Friday night, splitting a pie with roommates in a college dorm, having a slice or two with a cold beer at a bar, or celebrating a soccer or Little League baseball win with teammates and friends, pizza is one of life’s great common denominators.

As you likely know, there are a host of pizza joints across the Midlands, from downtown spots to suburban mainstays. Now we want to know which one is your favorite. Newspaper staffers have selected 32 restaurants from across the region for The State’s 2025 Pizza Poll.

As ever, let’s set some ground rules. We kept this poll to mostly locally owned places, rather than include the many larger chains. (Sorry, Domino’s and Mellow Mushroom lovers.) Also, this is a list of brick-and-mortar restaurants. (Sorry, food truck fans.) And, to note, the list includes places that are open for business at the time poll runs.

And to be absolutely clear, this is not an exhaustive, comprehensive list of every restaurant in the Midlands that offers pizza. Rather, it is simply a sampling of some of the many pizza places in the area, chosen by newspaper staffers.

You have until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 to vote in the poll below. The restaurants are listed in alphabetical order.

So, vote early and vote often, and don’t forget the parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper.
