The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a suspect following an August shooting.

At around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16, “deputies were flagged down by multiple individuals in reference to an individual that was just shot” in the area of Beaty Road and Kay Street, locating an adult victim who had suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body, a previous release said.

“Deputies immediately began rendering aid until EMS arrived,” that release said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital. The suspect(s) fled prior to deputies’ arrival.”

The department now says it has identified Deandre Moye, 28, as a suspect. He is wanted for charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and felon in possession in reference to the shooting, the department announced.

Anyone with information regarding Moye’s location is asked to call the department at 803-576-3000 or submit a tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
