A longtime West Columbia bookshop is planning to move.

But don’t worry, they aren’t going far.

Ed’s Editions, the well-known bookstore that has been located at 406 Meeting St. for nearly 25 years, plans to move next door to 410 Meeting St., according to a recent Facebook post from the store. There also is ign on the shop’s door letting customers know of the upcoming move.

The bookstore will remain at 406 Meeting St. through the end of the year, the sign notes. Then it will be closed for moving, and reopen on Jan. 15, 2026 at 410 Meeting St.

A note on the door says that Ed’s Editions bookstore will be moving in January from 406 Meeting St. to 410 Meeting St. in West Columbia.

“Come on by while you can,” Ed’s Editions posted on social media, noting there will be some upcoming sales. Ed’s is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, per its recent Facebook post. The shop has long been known for its used books and its rare collectors’ editions.

The Meeting Street area of West Columbia, just west of the Gervais Street Bridge, has continued to be a busy hub with stores, restaurants shops and more. About 12,300 cars per day travel down that section of Meeting Street, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
