There’s a new spot for pizza and more in one of Columbia’s most popular hospitality districts.

Manhattan Pie, which serves New York-style pizza by the slice or whole pie, opened Friday at 1004 Gervais St. in the Vista. The restaurant is just west of the intersection of Gervais and Assembly streets, next to a Regions Bank location and Menkoi Ramen House.

The menu at Manhattan Pie includes a wide variety of pizzas, as well as salads, chicken wings, garlic knots, jalapeno poppers and more. The spot offers traditional pies and slices, as well as a number of gourmet pies. Among the many gourmet offerings is the chipotle chicken pizza that comes with mozzarella, bacon, chicken and chipotle sauce.

The arrival of Manhattan Pie is part of a mini-burst of new eateries on the south side of the 1000 block of Gervais Street. A Qdoba Mexican Eats location is being developed at 1000 Gervais St.

The Vista remains one of Columbia’s most enduring hospitality and nightlife districts, lined with a host of restaurants, bars, shops, art galleries, music venues, hotels and more. More than 30,000 cars per day travel down Gervais Street, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
