One person was killed and another was injured in a Saturday morning car crash in Richland County.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper William Bennett said the two-vehicle crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at the intersection of Farrow Road and Pine Wedge Drive in Richland County. That’s about two miles north of Blythewood.

According to the Highway Patrol, a 2024 Ford pickup was traveling north on Farrow Road. Meanwhile, a 2022 Toyota Highlander was traveling west on Pine Wedge Drive. The Ford truck struck the Toyota on the driver’s side at the intersection, authorities said.

The driver of the Ford truck was not injured, the Highway Patrol said. The passenger of the Toyota was taken to the hospital for injuries, while the driver of the Toyota died at the scene.

The deceased had not been publicly identified as of early Sunday morning. The crash remains under investigation.
