A major Columbia roadway will close next week at a heavily-trafficked intersection that connects downtown to the southeast region of the city.

Where is the closure?

The stretch of Assembly Street between Catawba and Whaley streets will be affected by repair work to Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

When will it start?

The stretch of Assembly will close starting Nov. 11 at 2 a.m. and last through 7 p.m. Nov. 12.

How will traffic be re-routed?

The South Carolina Department of Transportation plans to re-route vehicles from Blossom Street to Huger Street.
