Where once there was pizza, there shall be pizza once again.

A new restaurant called Rock N Pizza recently opened its doors at 471-1 Town Center Place at the Village at Sandhill shopping complex in northeast Columbia. The restaurant, which debuted Nov. 11, notes on social media and on signage on its door that it is currently in a soft opening phase.

Rock N Pizza is located in the space that formerly was home to Blaze Pizza, a national chain. The Blaze at Sandhill closed in September.

The concept at Rock N Pizza is similar to Blaze in that customers approach the counter and can go down the line choosing custom toppings for their pizza. The spot also has a number of “Hall of Flame” signature pizzas on its menu, including the Rock N BBQ Breakdown, which comes with barbecue sauce, mozzarella, grilled chicken, red onions and banana peppers.

Also available are breadsticks, desserts such as brownies and more. The restaurant’s hours during its soft opening phase are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, per signage posted on the door.

There are a number of businesses located near Rock N Pizza within the Sandhill shopping area, including GameStop, Yu Noodles and Poke Bros., among others. The Regal Sandhill 16 movie theater is just a short distance to the north of the pizza shop.
