Rambo’s Fat Cat Biscuits will close in early December, owners announced on Facebook.

Rambo’s Fat Cat Biscuits, a popular, locally-owned biscuit restaurant on North Main, will close its doors after more than five years in business, owners announced on social media Wednesday.

“It is with the utmost gratitude for your support and friendship over the years that we announce we will be closing,” owners wrote in a Wednesday night Facebook post.

The restaurant will be open Nov. 28 to 30 and Dec. 6 to 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m for its final days. It’ll be at Soda City on Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13, owners said. In the post, owners did not share a reason for closing, but noted that their lease was up and it was “time to begin a new chapter.”

Rambo’s, at 2430 Main St., began as a mobile food operation typically serving up fresh biscuits at Soda City Market around 2018. After a little over two years of slinging biscuits most Saturdays, owners Todd and Renee Adams opened a brick-and-mortar location along North Main in late 2020. The operation also held a spot in the Richland County Library’s cafe in 2023.

The shop stacked its fluffy, made-from-scratch biscuits with everything from slabs of fried chicken to seared pork belly and offered a variety of sides, including blue corn grits. Eater, an online food and dining outlet, named Rambo’s one of the best places in Columbia for pimento cheese.
