Night of Thanksgiving will bring chilly weather. What to expect for the weekend.
After an unusually warm late November, Thanksgiving night will bring below freezing temperatures to the Midlands, the National Weather Service said.
During the day, temperatures will sit around the mid-50s to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Forecasts call for sunshine. Temperatures will drop later in the evening with lows in the mid-20s.
When temperatures drop below freezing, it’s generally advised to drip your faucets. The preventative measure, done by turning water faucets so they drip slightly throughout the night, helps stop pipes from freezing and bursting.
The chilly temps will stick around for most of the weekend, according to The Weather Channel, with highs in the 50s through Sunday and lows dipping down to below freezing. For Saturday’s noon game between the Clemson Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks, conditions are predicted to be partially cloudy, with temperatures hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
