This bustling Columbia road is getting a new Filipino restaurant. Here’s where
A popular local food truck is planning a brick-and-mortar space in northeast Columbia.
Sheila’s Plate Philippines Restaurant is coming to 10008-A Two Notch Road, as noted in a social media post from the restaurant. The Filipino eatery will be going into the space that formerly was home to The Baked Potato Factory.
The new restaurant will be a more permanent presence of the Sheila’s Plate Filipino Cuisine food truck that often appears in northeast Columbia, including near the Academy Sports location at the Village at Sandhill on many Sundays.
An opening date for the restaurant on Two Notch Road has not been publicly announced. Signage for Sheila’s has gone up on the building, and signs of renovation work were visible inside the space when a reporter swung by Monday morning. A new Richland County permit for plumbing work was hanging in the window. The restaurant has been sharing some renovation updates on Facebook.
The Sheila’s Plate food truck has been known for offering Filipino favorites, including chicken adobo, pork bistek, pancit noodles and more.
The location is along a high-traffic section of Two Notch Road, about three miles northeast of Interstate 77. Other nearby businesses include a Popeye’s, a Rush’s, a Papa John’s, and Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia, among a number of others. About 32,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Two Notch, per state Department of Transportation Data.
