Husband of Billy Graham’s daughter Anne found unresponsive in pool

Danny Lotz, the husband of evangelist Billy Graham’s daughter Anne, was in the intensive care unit of a hospital after his wife found him unresponsive in the pool of their Raleigh home on Monday.

“There are no answers yet as to the outcome,” Anne Graham Lotz said on Facebook late Monday. “The family is standing firm in faith, trusting Jesus. Thank you for your prayers.”

Anne Graham Lotz is a Raleigh-based evangelist who has just released an updated version of her 2001 book, “Heaven: My Father’s House.”

Lotz found her husband in the pool about 3:45 p.m. Monday, according to her Facebook page. She said her husband, a retired dentist in his late 70s, is receiving “excellent care” in the unnamed hospital.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, according to WRAL.

At 6-foot-7, Danny Lotz was a sophomore forward on the 1956-’57 North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team – the second undefeated national champion in NCAA basketball history and the first Atlantic Coast Conference team to win a title.

Lotz is a native of Northport, N.Y. He and his wife have three grown children.
