This popular Columbia neighborhood is getting a new store for Gamecock gear
A new store for University of South Carolina Gamecocks gear and more has plans for a location in one of Columbia’s most well-known districts.
Rally House, which has hundreds of sportswear stores across the nation, including in many college towns, is planning a shop at 818 Harden St. in Five Points. That’s just around the corner from Group Therapy.
There are signs posted in the windows at 818 Harden touting that the store is “coming soon,” and that it will be branded Rally House Carolina. The posters also note that folks can apply for a job at careers.rallyhouse.com. A listing seeking a store manager for the Harden Street Rally House location also was recently posted to the company’s website.
Headquartered in Kansas, there are 300 Rally House stores across the U.S. The shops typically offer apparel and gifts for professional and college sports teams, and are usually heavily themed to the teams of the town they are in.
For example, the company opened Rally House Clemson in April, its first Palmetto State store. It touted at the time that the Clemson outpost carries “an outrageous selection of Clemson gear such as jerseys, hats, socks, signs, gifts and more.”
Five Points, the more than century-old village just east of USC, remains one of Columbia’s most vibrant districts, lined with a host of bars, restaurants, boutiques, record shops, bookstores, coffee shops and more.
