Downtown Columbia sandwich shop to close its doors. Here’s when.
Sound Bites Eatery, a downtown sandwich shop, will close its doors in early February, owners announced on social media Wednesday.
Owners for the restaurant, located at 1425 Sumter St., decided not to renew the space’s lease, they wrote in a Facebook post.
“We have loved getting fresh with you, our customers, and we hope to see you lots before our last day,” the post read.
Sound Bites’ last day will be Feb. 6, 2026. The cafe, which serves dishes with playful names like the “Twerky Turkey” and the “Stop. Hammy Time,” offers sandwiches and salads along with an array of sides like an orzo mac & cheese or a pistachio pasta salad. It opened right off Main Street in the summer of 2021.
“We are so very thankful to each and every one of our supportive customers,” the post read. “Some of you guys are out to see us multiple times per week and not being able to see each other will leave a big hole in our hearts.”
