A popular Mexican chain known for burritos and more is building a location along a busy road in the Midlands.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, which has locations across the U.S., is bringing a new restaurant to 1079 Dutch Fork Road in Irmo, in the Ballentine area. The restaurant will be next door to the Ballentine Family YMCA. Construction is underway, though an opening date hasn’t been publicly announced.
The well-known burrito chain has begun advertising for workers for the new restaurant on its website, with positions including kitchen leader and service leader, among others.
The new Chipotle will be located along a busy thoroughfare. Located northwest of Interstate 26, near Lake Murray, about 28,000 cars per day travel down Dutch Fork Road, per state Department of Transportation data. The restaurant will have entrances off Dutch Fork Road and nearby Salem Church Road.
