Health inspectors found a dead roach and debris and grease near the cooking area of a Greenville restaurant in December.

Great Wall II on Poinsett Highway was scored 75 points, a C, on Dec. 29. It was the only C rating, the lowest score, given to a Greenville County restaurant in December.

Health inspectors with the South Carolina Department of Agriculture gave 306 Greenville County restaurants an A and 14 a B in December.

At Great Wall II, an employee was seen preparing raw cabbage without wearing gloves, cooked chicken stored in a cardboard box originally containing raw chicken and egg rolls in a wire crate with debris build up.

Ready-to-eat refrigerated food, including chicken, noodles, various sauces and vegetables, were held for more than 24 hours and not labeled with the use by, discard by, or prep date.

Chicken wings were stored in a container too large to allow for proper cooling and spices, sugar and flour were stored in containers without labels.

There were large gaps on the back door of the kitchen leading outside and disposable grocery bags held meat and vegetables in coolers.

A mattress and piles of garbage were seen near the outside garbage bins.

The restaurant was reinspected on Jan. 8 and received an 86, also a C. Several items including date marking, grease build up and food stored in grocery bags had not been corrected.
