Here are 5 of the worst-rated fast-food restaurants in Greenville, Google reviews say
Can there be a worse eating experience than going to a fast-food restaurant and getting something you didn’t order? Or they shortchanged you an item? How about getting take out and having too much salt on fries ordered without salt or no silverware to eat a salad?
Google Maps has a list of the best — and the worst — Greenville area restaurants based on customer experience. They are rated from 2 to 5, with none of the Greenville restaurants earning that top mark.
Some came in close like Sunfower Bakery and Windy City Burgers (check out their website if you want to start craving a burger).
And then there are the ones customers deemed the worst. Many of them were McDonald’s.
Here are the five restaurants with the worst scores.
Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, Haywood Road - 2.4
Customers complained about bad service, unclean facility and improperly cooked chicken. There were 299 reviews and someone from the location responded to most every one, apologizing for not meeting expectations.
“The chicken was unevenly cooked — some pieces were burnt while others were undercooked. The crew appeared untrained and unprofessional, and the overall service was disappointing,” a customer said.
They also described the gravy as “unpleasant.”
Another reported getting into a verbal altercation with two employees after she complained about her order being wrong. She said an employee videotaped her.
Another reported a good experience when they arrived right before closing and all the food was fresh.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Pleasantburg Drive - 2.5
Customers complained about stale chips and missing ingredients.
“Very upsetting,” they said. “Spend all that money and I can’t eat it without the chips.”
“This location is always out of onions and bell peppers,” another said. “Very irritating, but with this location, it’s expected.”
McDonald’s, Wade Hampton Boulevard - 3.0
“Absolutely terrible.” They didn’t have Monopoly and the customer said they were not told until after they ordered.
“What a joke,” they said.
Another said they got the Monopoly game and had to wait so long for their order they had time to play the game and leave a bad review.
“The workers are always just standing or sitting around like they don’t care, and I waited in a mobile pickup spot for almost 15 minutes with no one in the drive-thru and no one at the window,” they said. “This is the most consistently disappointing McDonald’s in the area.”
McDonald’s, Woodruff Road - 3.0
Customers complained about service going downhill, inferior food and not clean eating area.
The restaurant had 2,550 reviews.
“What an absolute atrocious experience this was. I’ve been coming to this location since ‘07 at least, and my God this place is unrecognizable now,” one person said.
Another said, “The fries were fresh out of the heat lamp, I had to practically beg for my cups to drink out of, and not to mention the drink machine was unhooked. I will never go back to this location.”
McDonald’s Laurens Road 3.0
With 2,311 reviews, this location was dinged for unsanitary conditions, too-long wait time and rude employees.
“The employee working the counter looked and acted like she had just been picking up trash on the freeway,” the customer said.
Another said the store was too hot, dirty and she saw “cockroaches walking on the floor!!!!!”
