Pedestrian killed in Richland County crash. What we know.

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle travelling on Garners Ferry Road around 8:05 p.m. Sunday night, the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported.

A 2005 Toyota Sienna was travelling west on Garners Ferry Road when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was in the street at the time, according to SCHP. There was one person in the vehicle and they were not injured.

The pedestrian died at the scene, which took place near the intersection of Old Garners Ferry Road.

The Highway Patrol did not identify the deceased. An investigation into the collision is still underway.
