6 new stores coming to Greenville mall, including several that are first in SC
Several new stores are opening this year at Haywood Mall in Greenville, some of them the only South Carolina location.
The mall, located at the intersection of Haywood Road and Interstate 385 has about 120 shops anchored by Belk, Dillard’s, Macy’s, and JCPenney. It opened in 1980.
The new stores include:
Free People Movement — women’s active wear.
Started in 1984 as a wholesale line, the Philadelphia-based company is part of Urban Outfitters. This is the first Free People Movement store in South Carolina. There are two locations in Charlotte.
Fit2Run — running shoes and gear for men and women
Established in 2006, Fit2Run at Haywood Mall is the first South Carolina location. The family-owned and locally operated retailer is largely centered in Florida but has locations in Georgia, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.
Kendra Scott — jewelry
Kendra Scott had $500 to invest in a mini-jewelry collection in 2002. Now it is a multimillion-dollar brand sold at retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and 1,000-plus specialty boutiques worldwide. It is based in Austin, Texas, and has stores in Columbia and Charleston.
Clarks — footwear
Clarks sells more than 50 million pairs of shoes a year with stores in 35 countries. It was founded in 1825 by two brothers in Somerset, England. It has outlet stores in Charleston and Bluffton.
Rowan — Ear piercing and earrings
Rowan was started by Louisa Serene Schneider after she couldn’t find just the right place to have her daughter’s ears pierced. She said she was looking for safety and celebration. “A place where medical standards meet joyful moments.” Nurses do the piercing. There is a location in Charleston.
Miss A — makeup and skin care
The company was started in 2013 and now has 1,000 employees in more than 80 stores. There are locations in Columbia and North Charleston. It is known for its pricing that starts at $1.
Haywood Mall also has South Carolina’s only Cheesecake Factory and Texas De Brazil.
