Columbia’s getting a new spot for indoor mini-golf. Check out where it will be
If you like to play mini-golf, but also like staying out of heat, rain and other weather, there’s a new spot coming for you in the Midlands.
Puttin’ Around, a new indoor mini-golf facility, is planned at 326 St. Andrews Road in Columbia, as noted in the Feb. 19 agenda of the Lexington County Planning Commission. The mini-golf spot would be located in a shopping complex that includes an Ollie’s store and other businesses. Puttin’ Around will be in a space that was formerly home to a HobbyTown location.
An exact opening date for Puttin’ Around hasn’t been publicly announced, but the business said in a post on its Facebook page that it’s aiming for an April opening. There was a sign in the window at the St. Andrews location that said “opening soon” when a reporter briefly stopped by Monday afternoon.
Puttin’ Around says on its website that it will have “18 creative holes that spark friendly competition without ever feeling too serious.” The company says it will be a facility that can host birthday parties, group outings, date nights and more.
“And because we’re 100% indoors, you’re always comfortable — no melting in the summer heat, no rain delays, no winter chills,” the Puttin’ Around website said.
St. Andrews Road is a busy thoroughfare connecting Columbia to the Irmo area. About 15,000 cars per day travel down St. Andrews in the area where the indoor mini-golf spot will be, per state Department of Transportation data.
