Columbia has been increasing in popularity for a while, and it should be no surprise to residents that house prices have gone up by quite a bit over the last several years.
While the capital of South Carolina is bringing in people from all over the state, some are finding it difficult to find an affordable house that matches their budget.
The typical home value in Columbia was around $224,000, according to a January report from Zillow.
Five years ago, the typical home value in Columbia was only $156,000.
On the bright side, online real estate marketplaces keep track of the lowest-priced houses at any given time, and there are a dozen single-family homes that are under or around $100,000 in the Columbia area.
Some of the houses listed aren’t Disney princess worthy, but for a family that wants to move to Columbia and pay the lowest possible price for a house, these are the options.
